Apam sea shore drowning; 12 bodies recovered

An aggregate of twelve bodies have been recovered from the Apam sea shore after around 20 youngsters supposedly suffocated on Sunday night.

The 12 bodies were recovered Monday evening in the episode which occurred in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

Realistic Online’s Gilbert Mawuli Agbey reports that an aggregate of around 20 children were dreaded dead in the episode which occurred on Sunday night.

It happened around 5pm when the kids between the ages of 14 and 17 years purportedly experienced an illicit course through a tidal pond all together not to be seen by the administration of the anglers at the sea shore prior to getting to the opposite side of the sea shore to swim.

As indicated by data assembled, as the youngsters were swimming, a substantial flowing breeze blew and got them suffocated and their bodies were diverted.

Affirming the occurrence to Graphic Online Monday evening, [March 8. 2021], the Apam District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr Moses Osakonor said that his outfit got the data around 6pm on Sunday and raced to the scene.

He noticed that two of the kids who were protected were accepting treatment at the St Luke Catholic Hospital at Apam, and helping the police in their examinations.

He added, “as we talk now, dormant collections of seven of the youngsters, two young ladies and five young men have been recovered and kept at the funeral home of a similar medical clinic.”

He expressed that as per the survivors, they couldn’t remember the specific number of the youngsters in the water at the time the occurrence happened, pushing “a 14-year-old kid who endure told the police that they were more than 20 in the water”.

He added that the inquiry party is on the high oceans to recover more bodies.
