The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of 2020 going to Senior High, Technical and Vocational Schools placement has been released by the The Ghana Education Service (GES) according to a statement released.
The GES ensured that the exercise went live on TV as officials worked hard to rollout candidates into the SHS placement platform on Sunday, February 28, 2021, which will enabled the students get enrollment to Akufo-Addo’s free SHS policy.
The Daily Graphic team visited the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Centre, and officials of the GES were busily working on the 2020 BECE candidates placement.
The Management of The GES after a vigorous working process, finally announced that out the total number of 533,693 registered candidates, 494,530 candidates qualified to be placed.
In the nutshell, candidates who had automatic placement where about 343,264, while other 151,266 who qualified couldn’t match any of the choices.
Hence, all qualified but not placed candidates are obliged to do a self-placement to select from available schools.
This was said in a statement released by Public Relation Officer of the GES, Cassandra Twum-Ampofo, given directions to how the self-placement can be done.
“To access the placement platform, candidates are to obtain a placement pin code from an approved vendor, log onto the site www.cssps.gov.gh, enter the 10-digit index number and add 20 as year of completion,” Cassandra Twum-Ampofo disclosed in the Statement.
Again, it revealed that in circumstances where a student’s index number was 1234567890, 20 would be added to the number to make it 123456789020, “then enter the pin code details (serial number and pin), click on submit and wait for placement to show up.”
The statement also added that, candidates should make a print out the form, if placed, and immediately visit the school to begin the admission process.
